September 10, 2016 - At the Profanitarium

Yeah yeah, now you know why I haven't been seen around here lately! ;) Yes, I've been exploring planets in No Man's Sky, but mostly I've been exploring the profanity filter to see what's allowed and what's not. And let me tell you, there are some surprises in there. Amazingly, the words Bipedal, Basement, Spicy (but not Spice), and Got are considered profane, but Ballsack, Dong, The Devil's Lettuce, and Tubgirl (but not Goatse) are not. And this means... BONUS COMIX!!!

Alright, this one's a bit sneaky because it's probably the "SEMEN" that bans the word "baSEMENt" rather than its Basement Dad context.

Yeah I was pretty surprised about that one. If your travels ever bring you to a planet with a lifeform called "The Sex Number", I may have been there. Or someone else who had the same idea was there. Either way it's a pervert planet and you should leave before you find an abandoned second-hand porn stash.

And in case any of you dank memers out there want to make fun of NMS's double standards of profanity, here's an exploitable version of that section of the comic for you to plop your own words into. Enjoy!

P.S. I realise that the creator of NMS, Sean Murray, probably isn't really behind the woefully incomplete yet bafflingly overzealous profanity list, but he's the scapegoat for everything else that people are sobbing over with regards to No Man's Sky these days, so as far as comic simplicity is concerned he gets the blame for this one too. Sorry, Sean!
